This will be Pinoy Secret Files' second year of celebrating Red Ninja Year Ender. For those unfamiliar, Red Ninja Production has been in the local music scene since 2009 which started out as live events production group then later expanded as a management for artists, since then, Red Ninja Production tirelessly produced the best local live events.

Le Husband and I attended the pre-party last November 20 at 20:20 Bar, Makati. Red Ninja Production staff and artists reminisced their previous Year Ender events at B-Side, The Collective (which is now closed and will be developed into another business).
Red Ninja artists will be performing with other local acts and first time in history of Red Ninja Production, an international band will be joining the awesome lineup.
In attendance at the pre-party were media partners, sponsors and artists such as April Hernandez of Area25, Icoy Rapadas and Andrew Son of Lions & Acrobats, Naara Acueza and Juan Carlos Castaño of Leanne and Naara and Jiggerr Divina of Assembly Generals headed by Red Ninja Master herself, Nicole Sarmiento and hosted by Patty General.

I love working with Red Ninja Productions on behalf of Pinoy Secret Files. We are invited as one of the media partners for Runway Crimes "Familiarity" Album Launch last August 25, 2018 at Social House, Makati City.
Runway Crimes is a post-hardcore indie band started almost a decade ago composed of group of friends headed by Paolo Tabuena (Vocals), Matthew Warren / Chaco Cruz (Guitars), Martin Hocson (Bass), Paolo Owyong (Drums) and Philip Verzosa (Keyboards/Synth).
The event was kicked off by singer-songwriter, visual artist, graphic designer, fashion designer, and published author - all rolled into one convenient sushi, Reese Lansangan (my favorite). I was really surprised and happy that she performed since she was not in the original line-up.

Lions and Acrobats on the other hand performed their greatest hits and the crowd went crazy. The independent band is known to be successful with orchestrating multiple melodies simultaneously through three guitarists (Jim Lopez, Carlo Lava, Andrew Son), a bassist (Oteph Tumambing) and a vocalist (Icoy Rapadas) that thrives into bobbing and weaving through thick and intricate chord progressions which are all of course, backed by the drummer (Pedro Tumibay) following strict dynamics and timely syncopation.

Pinoy Secret Files are invited to cover Hatag: Giving Back To The Community last June 07, 2018 in Enderun Colleges.
Enderun Colleges is a private non-sectarian undergraduate college and one of their organization, Adparo, Rego & Iuvo, a social entrepreneurship organization that aims to fundraise for a cause composed of Senior High School students in the track of Accountancy, Business & Management in partnership with Events and Production house, Dauntless Manila, organized this event for a cause.

Special performances from student and invited performers kicked off the intimate event. Sab Bueno, Sarsa Parillas, Serotonin, Elai and Elle Sebastian performed their hearts out. The highlight of the event was performances by IV of Spades, Silent Sanctuary, Leanne and Naara and Emmanuelle Vera.

It's Pinoy Secret Files' first time working with Dauntless Manila and it's very special since they are celebrating their first year anniversary. Dauntless Manila is an Events & Video Production House established by Airr Jimenez and Bjonzy Osorio last May 17, 2017. They celebrated their first year anniversary with an awesome gig last May 17, 2018, Thursday at B-Side, The Collective in Makati City. It's Pinoy Secret Files' second year as Media Partner for Red Ninja Production's anniversary gig. Red Ninja is one of the longest running local music production house founded on April 20, 2009. Red Ninja Production held their 9th year anniversary celebration last April 14, 2018 at B-side, The Collective spearheaded by the founder and Ninja Master, Nicole Sarmiento.
This year (just like the other anniversaries), Red Ninja prepared an awesome line up.

It's been a month already but I still can't move on from this year's Rakrakan Festival. Once again, Rakista Radio and REC made another mark to OPM history as they successfully hosted this year's Rakrakan Festival with the theme "Pinoy Muna".
The event was held last February 24, 2018 at Aseana City Concert Grounds which featured diverse OPM selection, more various stages and a lot of new activities. There are 121+ OPM artists, 6 Stages, a skateboarding exhibition and competition, BMX and Fixie Competition and Exhibition, an Inter-Collegiate Live Art Competition joined by top Universities in the Metro and nearby provinces, 70 local merchandise exhibit and many other thrilling activities.
Rakistas patiently lined up to enter the venue as gates opened after lunch under the scorching sun. Some came all the way from far provinces all over the country to experience this one historical event. Rakistas from all walks of life were gathered to witness the fun and excitement Rakrakan Festival has to offer. From students, professionals and even parents (how cool is that) who were very supportive with their Rakista offspring.
This is my second time attending Rakrakan and compared to last year, this year is definitely bigger, louder and bolder. One day is not enough for a humongous festival like this. If only we can split ourselves to fully experience all the stages and activities, believe me, we already did!

As mentioned, there are a lots of activities that Rakistas participated and we really felt the support and appreciation of everyone. From buying local merchandise, art appreciation and joining extreme activities, everyone gave their best shot and support for fellow Rakistas.
Of course the highlight of the event were the OPM artists who performed and mingled with OPM fans. From legends to new and aspiring indie artists, everyone celebrated OPM's greatness.
The crowd favorites were IV of Spades, Ely Buendia, Slapshock, Brownman Revival, Franco, Mayonnaise and Dicta License to name a few.
For me, the highlight of the event was when Slapshock performed at the Mosh Stage (with some special "fire" effects). The crowd went really wild as they slam and groove to Slapshock's songs. I literally feared for my life on this set.

February was indeed a busy day for me and Le Husband. It was our first Valentine's Day as a married couple but we kept it simple (everyday is Valentine's Day for us anyway, LOL). We really had a lot on our plate: from a client pre-nup photo shoot courtesy of Lomograpika Design Studio to covering Rakrakan Festival 2018: Pinoy Muna courtesy of Pinoy Secret Files.
Anyway, it's not a secret that I am a huge fan of Reese Lansangan. I came across her promotional contest for a concert hosted by Globe and Bonifacio High Street.
I joined out of pure support to Reese, without any hopes of winning.

Days passed by like usual until one bright Saturday of February. I woke up late that day since we had a prenup shoot the day before and I was effin tired, and look what I discovered (I actually found out a day late, LOL)
Who would have thought I will actually win? Luck or Fate? I think it's the latter.
I told Le Husband about the wonderful news and without second thoughts, he agreed to attend. I really appreciate Le Husband that day because I know he was still tired from our previous photoshoot, but still, he supported her Reese Lansangan fan-girling wife.
Before the show starts, Le Husband and I had a chance to meet and greet Reese. I brought some goodies from South Korea as a pasalubong/gift and even brought the picture of her taken by John Marcelo which I won ages ago from one of her gig, Soldiers of Love.
It was nice of her to accept my gift and even complimented my OOTD. She was also kind enough to sign the picture I brought and even gave some video messages for my fan-girling friends (shout out to my fellow winner Adrienne who could't make it and to my son's friend, Calista Caibal, who loves Reese as well).
After a tiring month, I believe Le Husband and I deserved this break from work. This time, we are not in front of the stage taking snaps of our favorite artist. It's time for us to sit back, relax and enjoy the show. Also, as much as I want to take photos, professional camera is not allowed and I also wanted to just enjoy the moment.
I would like to thank Globe for making this possible and also to the artists who performed along side Reese Lansangan. Le Husband and I really had a memorable late Valentine's date.

The panel of artists were composed of members from Mayonnaise, Gracenote and Brownman Revival. The artists were gracious enough to answer the questions related to the Festival. After the Q&A, the bands showed a teaser on what to expect on Rakrakan Festival. They performed their respective greatest hits and the crowd was totally in the mood.

I think I had a hangover from Red Ninja Year-Ender 2017 that I decided to have one more dose of good live music in my system. I decided to watch my favorite local indie girl artists in a "once in a blue moon" event. It's not a secret that I am a huge fan of Reese Lansangan so when I stumbled upon her page and noticed that the venue of her gig that night is just right across my office, I decided to watch. Unplanned due to spur of the moment, I don't have my DSLR with me so excuse my low quality iPhone pictures.
Just a quick back track on how I discovered these girls:
Reese Lansangan - It was love at first sound. I was first captivated during December Avenue's album launch last 2016 and they say the rest was history. I have been her fan ever since. My favorite song of hers as of the moment is entitled For the Fickle.
Clara Benin - Again, because of December Avenue, I discovered another gem. Clara and December Avenue had a collab song entitled Fallin' and I was like, who's Clara Benin, she's one of a kind!

I haven't had the chance to watch her live and the Street Teams Unite gig will be the first time if ever so I am excited.
Keiko Necesario - I frankly can't remember how I discovered Keiko it's either on Spotify or from some random indie artist as well. She has a Norah Jones-ish vibe plus she's very funny in person. Anyway, my current favorite song from her is Away from the Current.

I first saw her perform live during the Red Ninja Year-Ender 2017 courtesy of Red Ninja Production. Oh boy, she did not disappoint!
Leanne and Naara - I accidentally discovered this awesome duo courtesy of Keiko. They covered Officially Missing You and I was immediately fascinated by the duo.
After looking up their songs on Spotify, I didn't notice that I already raped the rewind button, HAHAHA. Both of them have distinct voice, Leanne's raspy while Naara's sweet, indeed a perfect combo. My current favorite is Run Run.
Fast forward to Street Teams Unite gig! It was coordinated/arranged by the artists' respective fan groups aka Street Teams (Reese Lansagan's Batang Lansangan or Reese Kids, Clara Benin's Clarafied, Keiko Necesario's The Crop Tops and Leanne and Naara's LN Buddies) and was hosted by Frank and Dean.
The program started around 8:00PM with an Open Mic program participated by members from the Street Team. I must say that participants were equally talented as well, just like their idols.
Finally, the moment of truth, the artists' turn. The first singer that graced her talent was Keiko Necesario. I really enjoyed her set because she makes everyone laugh by her jokes but when she sings, you can feel that she puts her mind and soul into it thus her audience were all in awe. She sang some of her songs such as Away from the Current, Highway and While We Are Young.
Next was Reese Lansangan. As always, I am astonished by her magical voice. She sang For the Fickle, Bleed and Home.
Followed by Leanne and Naara, the dynamic-duo played some of their songs like Run Run, Again and New York and Back. This is the first time I saw them perform live and they were really astonishing.
Last but definitely not the least was Clara Benin. She sang her songs like Parallel Universe, Closure and December.
The girls ended the show with some epic collab and sang Christmas songs just in time for the season.

The Street Teams Unite gig was definitely successful. The number of attendees were more than a hundred, Frank and Dean was full house. My 200 Pesos and 4 hours spent with then was totally worth it. Hopefully, this will not be the last gig for the four of them but just the start. I will surely watch them again in the future.
