I started collecting when my partner and I went to Singapore last 2015. I was thinking of something to collect from the places I've been to and no, I don't want to collect magnets as a souvenir. The first thing that we bought in Singapore was Starbucks tumbler and from then, I decided it will be my remembrance from every trip and places I've been to.
I started to purchase online one buy one even if I haven't been to those places. The habit became an obsession and I eventually got addicted thus began my collection. I buy and trade from fellow collectors and I also had gifts from relatives and friends.

What do I gain from collecting? It is therapeutic for me plus I gain a lot of friends who are fellow collectors. As of writing, the actual cost of my collection is 55,000 PHP, excluding gifts. Yes it is expensive! What I usually do, I save up money and have a certain budget for my purchase. Also, just a tip, when buying online thru OLX or groups, make sure to check if the seller is legit and also, try to purchase more than 1 item per seller to maximize the shipping fee. Some seller also do meet ups and as per my experience, it is the safest way to purchase for assurance that the seller is legit and to ensure that the item is in good condition.
If you are planning to start this hobby, I suggest you think twice. Collecting Starbucks tumbler or any other collectibles is not for everybody. It takes time, effort and of course money. If you decide to collect and do a hobby, make sure you will invest on it.
